Sometimes couples feel that preparing for a c-section isn’t as vital as say doing antenatal classes for a vaginal delivery, but that is not the case.
A c-section is a major operation that you need to know how to best prepare for the surgery itself, as well as the recovery. Knowing what happens on the day of surgery can reduce anxiety and fears as well as help you get some much-needed sleep the night before.
We can walk you through what to do the night before, what happens on D-day and what to expect during your stay in hospital. We will also discuss tricks about moving around, coughing and sneezing to reduce unwanted pain.
Getting Dad ready for nappy changing, dressing, burping, settling etc is super important because Mum isn’t jumping up for the first 12-24 hours, (plus, she will be slow after that and an extra pair of hands is crucial). Feeding positions can also be different and we can practice that in advance with some dolls.
Due to COVID-19 many hospitals shut down group antenatal classes and couples moved to online sessions. Unfortunately, many stated they struggled to retain the content they were reading as well as felt underwhelmed or unprepared. So we are here to help!
Nothing beats having a real person to lecture, demonstrate, joke with, and most importantly answer your questions as they arise.
Let us fully prepare you in a safe environment.
